Introduction

Support for Derbyshire Voluntary ,Community, Faith and Social Enterprise

There are an estimated 5000 third sector groups and organisations operating across Derby and Derbyshire. Often referred to as the voluntary and community sector, these groups include:

  • charities (small and large)
  • self help groups
  • community associations
  • single issue campaign groups
  • sports clubs
  • neighbourhood projects
  • health and social care projects
  • environmental groups
  • social enterprises
  • training providers
  • advice organizations
  • community interest companies

- as well as many others. They are supported by 17 local, third sector support organisations such as councils for voluntary service (CVS), volunteer centres and other, more specialist, agencies collaborating as Derby & Derbyshire Infrastructure Alliance ( DDIA).
