Types of Services:
Volunteering Support – support for volunteers and volunteering organisations, including finding appropriate volunteering opportunities, recruiting and supporting volunteers and good practice policies and procedures regarding volunteering issues.
Transport Service – volunteer service taking older people to their doctors, to hospital appointments, out shopping or on social trips. They can chose which journeys they want to do and may use their own car or our specially adapted vehicle suitable for wheelchair users. There is a charge for trips.
Befriending – a free service providing volunteers to visit or telephone older people living in Buxton, Chapel-en-le-Frith and the surrounding areas, who feel a little lonely and in need of some company and help.
Readycall – befriending and practical support to people and their families in the Derbyshire Dales who are aged 60 and over, living with cancer or other life-limiting health conditions.
Alive and Kickin' – a Comic Relief funded project offering activities for over 65’s. Until 2022. Buxton area only.
Tea, Talk and Tech – a pilot project looking at getting older people in care homes digitally connected. Short term project ending December 2021. Derbyshire Dales only.
Care and Support Older Adults - a Domiciliary Agency registered with the Care Quality Commission, providing support to people who need personal assistance in their own homes.
Care and Support Children and Younger People – Care Quality Commission registered service supporting disabled children and their families in their home and in taking part in activities in their local community.
Derbyshire Handy Van – provided on behalf of Derbyshire County Council, a service fitting smoke detectors and providing fire safety checks.
Home Maintenance – a service offering basic DIY assistance including repairs, decorating, installation of handrails, and ramps, all for a reasonable price.
Hoarding Clearance – a charged for service assisting local authorities, housing associations, private landlords or families to deal with houses affected by hoarding. We will clear and clean the property and return it to good order.
Wheelchair Loan – manual wheelchairs can be borrowed for short term periods for a small deposit.
Hearing aid battery distribution – available only from the Buxton office, distribution of hearing aid batteries to clients registered with Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Buxton Street by Street – a National Lottery funded partnership with a Buxton community initiative providing assistance during the coronavirus pandemic. Now focussing on tackling the longer term effects of the pandemic. Until April 2022.
